TMCC’s Zoning Orientation Forum – 7:00 p.m. in the Town Room at Town Hall
Rebroadcasts of the Warrant Review Meeting on ACTV’s Channel 17 (It’s on at weird times – you might want to tape it. It runs a little less than two hours.)
Independently-organized Precinct Meetings – There’s still one left. It's for Precincts 4 and 10, but anyone can go: Saturday, November 3rd, 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., 284 North Pleasant St. (Corner of McClellan St.) Hosted by Howard Ewert 256-1445
Always good info on the TM section of the Town web site.
Here’s a radio interview with Yuri Friman about Fair Trade. (Scroll down to October 16th.) He is the petitioner of Article 9 on that subject.

Thank you, Stephanie,for posting the times for ACTV's "broadcasting" of the Warrant Review Meeting.
The timing of the showings, however,is utterly ridiculous, seemingly designed to make it impossible for working people to watch. ACTV must be taking its cues on television scheduling from Major League Baseball, another institution hell-bent on choking off its own audience.
I have added additional airtimes of the 10/25 warrant review to accommodate more viewers schedules.

Also, we are working with the town of Amherst to get all government meetings available online, as well as new cameras in the town room so we can replace the 10+ year old ones in place.

Thanks James! The new broadcast times are very helpful. And the possibility of on-line meeting video is truly excellent news.
Kudos to James O'Connor of ACTV for running a responsive operation. That was a solution in record time. Bravo.
Any alert couch potato can notice that there are truly wonderful things happening at ACTV, with leaders like Isaac Ben-Ezra, Alan Root, and others who are plugged into the needs of the community. The televising of Finance Committee and Planning Board meetings has been a tremendous addition to the cause of citizen vigilance in Amherst.
With over 18 minutes of commercial time for every hour of prime-time television, it's easy to tear yourself away from the follies of Madison Avenue to watch, for example, Alice Carlozzi and Company as they work hard, think hard, and ignore the cameras.
Because of this unique institution in town, there is no excuse for not knowing what's going on. The meetings are just a click away.
